ST. MICHAEL’S GNS.
Newsletter.
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome back to everyone and a very warm welcome to all our Junior Infants who have settled so well already. A special Céad míle fáilte to all our new pupils throughout the school. We hope you all had an enjoyable and restful summer.
Our thanks to all of you who supported and donated books to the Book Rental Scheme. What a wonderful job the Parents’ Association, Martha, Siobhán and Alison (our treasurer) did on your behalf. 600 books approx were covered, labelled and sorted – a huge task for which we are extremely grateful – thank you ladies! If anyone is willing to donate Bright Sparks (reader) to the school please send it in with your daughter. Our thanks too, to South East Stationery who covered the books at a very reasonable rate.
It’s lovely to see all the girls so beautifully turned out in full uniform…so many new shoes!! Please make sure your child’s uniform has her name clearly printed on label of her school uniform. Once again a huge amount of work has been completed over the summer. All the electrics and security in the three buildings have been completely replaced and upgraded, old floor coverings, doors and windows replaced and we have begun to replace the ceilings in the Extension building. All the buildings are now warm cosy, well lit and safe.
We hope everyone has a happy year. If you are concerned about your daughter, please do not hesitate to contact the school and make an appointment to see her class teacher. Her happiness as well as her progress is very important to us.
A new Principal has not yet been appointed. The first round of interviews for the Principalship took place in July. The advice of the interview panel to the Board of Management was to re-advertise in September. This process is now underway and we will keep you informed. In the meantime, I will be with you until 5 November.
